New Release: Rodger Fox All Star Band with Randy Crawford
Randy Crawford first came to New Zealand in 1992 after a meeting between band leader, Rodger Fox and Warner Bros Music exec Tim Murdoch where Rodger told Tim that there were Musos in NZ quite capable of backing the Jazz/Soul Diva. Randy took a risk and agreed to come to NZ and work with people she didn’t know, Murdoch was promoting Crawford who was in the WEA stable and he wanted to bring her to NZ to push her latest release at the time - ‘Through the Eyes of Love’.
During Randy’s three city tour of NZ and on this recording from the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington - The Band played several tracks from that album, plus all the old hits from the Crusaders days - ‘Streetlife’ , Rainy Night in Georgia’ , ‘You Might Need Somebody’ , ‘Rio de Janiero Blue’ and ‘One day I’ll Fly Away’ .
